Mission
The Velero IV is a Seattle-based oceanographic research, fishing, and utility vessel of opportunity. Our mission is to provide a safe and reliable support vessel for various applications, including Marine Research and Exploration, Environmental Studies, Alaska Commercial Fishing, and West Coast Oil Industry support. Private charters are also available on the West Coast.

The Velero IV is a 110' x 27.1' single screw, 600 HP Atlas Imperial powered vessel of tuna clipper hull design with raked stem, rounded stern, raised deck and welded steel hull construction. Its comfortable accommodations include spacious staterooms, galley, and lounge. The Velero IV has been working up and down the Pacific coast as a private yacht, marine research vessel, and commercial salmon tendering vessel since it was built in 1948, by National Iron Works of San Diego, CA.
